Jacob Reed

Jacob Reed received his Bachelors of Music Education, and Masters degrees in Music Composition and Music Theory from the Ohio State University where he co-founded the OSU New Music Ensemble. In 2010 he was the recipient of an Emerging Artist Fellowship from the OSU Arts Initiative, and an evening of his work was presented by the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington, OH. In 2011, he released "Songs of Dusk" - a CD of original jazz arrangements and compositions. He was commissioned to create a new work for the Columbus Bicentennial celebration "Finding Time." In 2015 a concert of his music was produced by the Cultural Arts Center of Columbus Ohio. He serves as Music Director of Hixon Dance and works professionally as a free-lance composer, jazz drummer, and dance accompanist.  He maintains a private percussion and composition studio in Columbus, OH and teaches vocal music in the Worthington, Schools.
